Review: As We Keep Searching - Growing Suspicions EP

"If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man - Albert Einstein" Isn't this likely to happen? There are so many suspicions around us. Today, we humans are lost, deteriorating in values and responsibilities  We are destroying ourselves and the nature. The Album speaks about human values, our hidden urge to dare and dream of a better future.

As a person who is biased to indie rock and post-hardcore, As We Keep Searching, a three piece indie/post-rock/experimental band from Ahmedabad was a refreshing change. Along with their previously released singles Aakorxon and The Tattva, the band released their much awaited EP Growing Suspicions on February 14, 2014 and it consists of four brand new singles.

The previously released tracks called The Tattva and Aakorxon are tastefully done and not disappointing at any degree. It does a good job of relaxing every bone in your body.

In Circles – The first track that I listened to, it is also my favourite from the entire album. Reminiscent of a dream-like experience, this single holds a soft spot in my heart.
Shimmer Of Light – Starts off very slowly. I found this particular track to be monotonous throughout the entire 3 minutes.

Banshee – Bansee in the Gaelic folklore was believed to be a female spirit known to feed on people's sadness but this song is the exact opposite. Although it glides for almost 7 mins, Uddipan Sarmah's soothing voice at the end of the song makes up for it.

The album also features two remixes by British electronica artist LEROI, which gives a melancholic vibe to the two tracks The Tattva and Aakorxon.

The album is a solid production and  it proves that you don’t need lyrics to express your emotions and feelings. What defines this album is its honesty. The moments of clarity is brilliant. I would definitely recommend it for the new as well as the old listeners of experimental music. It can be monotonous at times with the entire album clocking almost 45 minutes but with tracks like The Tattva, Banshee and In Circles it makes for a great listen.
