A Pop Punk band from Melbourne, Breaking The Border's latest EP delivers a confident feel into the listeners and gives a vivid imagery of pop punk music.
When I came to know I had to review a pop punk band, I immediately felt that it would be just another pop-punk band with the same kind of music to review. I started listening to their music and they proved me wrong. Delivering an energetic feel into the listener, Breaking The Border EP kicks ass!
Prologue
Prologue is a mellifluous intro track with a smart attitude expressed by the bold guitar riffs and drums.
Garry's Mod
A track with a driving vibe infused. A bit more than halfway through the track comes in a calmer but definite part which drives into a robust section.
Steam Greenlight
A guitar driven intro which dives into an enthusiastic verse. A smoother section midway through the track adds to the dynamism of the track. The section goes into a promising verse which is followed by another intensive verse
Valves
A calmer picture painted in the canvas which delivers a dynamism in the EP. It seems to depict an ethereal landscape and the track ends with a clean guitar part slowly absorbed into ecstasy.
Halflife
An uptempo track with bold guitar riffs working in tandem with the bass and drums to deliver an impact upon the listeners. Towards the end of the track comes in a dynamic section created by the bold guitar riffs and bass drum to deliver a dynamism which which explodes into a big verse and the EP ends with a bold attitude.
If you want a taste of organic pop-punk , this is it ! This EP will give you a taste about the creativity of the band. Although the tracks in this EP sounds a bit monotonous at times, it is worth a listen. I'd rate it a 7.5 on 10 if I had to. They sound like a pop-punk band yes, but a little more variety in their music would be greatly appreciated.
