GIG REVIEW - CHAOTIC ARENA | “A breath-taking night from the best hill live band of the moment'

With much anticipation, the day had finally come when I would finally get to see some of my favourite bands perform live. The anticipation is so high that it’s almost breaking my patience and, when the lights starts to dim, the bands come on stage, the cheer is so loud that it could – to add an effect to it on it – blow off the roof....

The show kicked off with a loud start by Thrash Black Death “DEAD PHEONIX “from Darjeeling. The band played their single PROSTITUTE MARY and this was a good start for them as a Newcomer . This was most probably their first gig and I believe they can do much better on stage in the near future. Since emerging recently, these boys have managed to cause quite a attention in the ranks of Metal scene.

Following up was another deathcore outfits from Mirik, Anxiety Of Darkness. Personally this is one of my favourite bands playing core music real tight from such a small place. They played their single THIS IS THE END followed by covers from CHELSEA GRIN. The crowd erupted in cheers, everyone jumping, air drumming to their music as they played Chelsea Grin’s cover. They were tight but need to play more of their originals than covers. They had this awesome crowd support and my painful thighs too!

Then Zero Tolerance, an Alternative and Progressive band of boys took the stage. Crowds were clearly impressed to hear them play some of their real shits, which proved to be a Crowd loving performance. So far it’s been a very good feeling to be a part of the gig indeed! The band played their originals, PSYCHO ANALYZED REVOLUTION and PERSONIFICATION OF DYING SOULS.

Continuing with the excitement, CONFUZONE a thrash Death Groove act from Darjeeling took over the stage. They were some of the crazy lads with the crowds following to their awesome thrash and beats, audience have never looked so excited all evening to finally get things moving. They played their single CHAOTIC FUSION which they are hoping to record soon.

Up next came Dire Threat an Experimental Act from Namchi, who just nailed the show as they covered MY DAMNATION by CHELSEA GRIN. The band can certainly gave punching live act, with beastly breakdowns and clashing cymbals reminding us that they’ve got some really good taste.THE DRUMMER needs no introduction who is a crazy ass Drummer with some really good talent and previously played with SINISTER VIOLENCE in NWO. They played 3 of their originals and are hoping to come out with an EP soon.

Arguably the main attraction for the show Kurseong hailing Experimental deathcore, band CORPULENT DEFORMITY appeared with high amounts of energy and plenty of loud shouts from the audience. Distortion echoed around the room as the band starts off with some new originals gaining a good jump and excitements. These guys love to play core to the core and through the years have build up some really good fan base playing out from the hills. They are my Best pals and my favourite band too.

As it became more and more obvious we were nearing the end of the show, hopes were still held high for hearing Dissected Souls, a groove metal band from Teen Dhare. They had crazy stage antic never failing to keep the crowd jumping by their beastly breakdowns and thrashing symbals!! DS played many songs on their set and I forgot to count because I was really enjoying headbanging with the vocalist.

It has been a wonderful evening. You are exhausted and sweaty from headbanging, but you cannot stop jumping. You’re sad that the show has really end, but you know that this night will hold you over until then. It was definitely a night where you fall asleep with drums and dances determining your dreams.
I would like to congratulate and thank Pscychedelic Faction for putting so much effort in just little bit of time. Respect to the Organizers for making this happen all for free and giving chance to fresh talent and keeping up the Metal spirit alive. Every crowd enjoyed hell out what they expected. Cheers to the crowd to the bands and to the Organizers
