It's sad,
too many people choose not to care about local music. They are unaware of all
of the good things that local bands can do for your town, the musicians,
and yourself. I've just come across Purple Fusion's new Album and it blows me away. So i though i could jot down some lines to make it sure that you believe it's an excellent Album.
Below,
are eight reasons as to why you should listen to Purple Fusion’s debut album
‘Folk Reminiscence’ right now.
1.
Because it’s actually good.
There
I said it. It’s a good album. The songs are good. I loved it and so you should!!
They have a truly unique sound, one that blends a playful, indie-rock sensibility with a twist of traditional sound.
3.
Just Because….
-
It’s their debut album
-
They have really worked hard on this album ever since their formation in 2012.

Check their Facebook page info for more “why listen?”
4.
Because it’s real
I’ll
tell you one of the things I like about folk music and Purple Fusion for that
matter—-it’s real. Folk musicians don’t need to make obscene videos with creepy
scenes and sexy women in short outfits to make people like the music. The music
stands on its own. ‘Folk Reminiscence’ perfectly defined it!
5.
They are a folk band? So what! This album is perfectly designed for you!
I
can’t deny the fact that people who like folk music tend to be old men and people tend to have a feeling that it’s not cool. (Fuck That shit) I for one used to have that perspective towards folk
music and bands but not now anymore. ‘Folk Reminiscence’ is exceedingly
energetic blended with modern sound and reimagined arrangements of traditional Naga
folk music.
6. Support
Local Artist!
They
might seem like rock stars when on stage, but the reality is that everyone puts
their pants on the same way. Musicians are people just like you, and that means
that they go through the same exact financial troubles as you and I. This
doesn’t mean that the band is making music for money! Why would a band make
music, if not to entertain us? Those people are working hard for our pleasure.
The least you can do is buy and listen to their album and have a good time.
7.)
If that band ever became “big”, you can say, “I grew up listening to their
debut album.”
Every
band starts out small. I’m not saying that Purple Fusion is small; for sure
they are a great band out there in the scene. But I believe that the band have all
the potential to make it even much bigger!
Support
local music.
Do
it for the musicians.
Do
it for the community.
Do
it for you.
Standout track: All of them, honestly but “Hey Ho! They come along” was the first song I ever heard from Folk Reminiscence, and it remains my favorite. The song sets an upbeat, bouncy tone and shows off the dynamic lead vocals of singer Lamtsala H Sangtam. It’s impossible to not be singing along the melodious and catchy chorus ‘hey ho…hey ho…...”
