Top 10 songs of Maroon 5

Maroon 5, the band hailing from Los Angeles, California are almost at the pinnacle of their success in music scene which seems to be going in parallel with the front-man Adam Levine's love life from dating the former 'Vogue' editor Jane Herman to getting engaged with the Victoria's Secret angel Behati Prinsloo. The band has recently released their new album V(pronounced five). None of their album has ever been a disappointment for me. With the passing years their lyrics has seen some changes which is almost depicts the different stages in love Adam has been. It has changed from 'lusty love making' to 'goodbyes, lies and being sorry' and further to 'promises and true love'. Being a big fan of the band and following them since the 'she will be loved' days which was released in June 2002 here are my top 10 personal favourites. Though it won't be a justice to few other songs.

 1

She Will Be Loved: Its a soulful emotional ballad which was a chart-buster and it's the first song that comes in my mind when my girl asks me to sing for her. I could put this song on repeat for the whole day and it would still have the same effect on me. It's a song that really does bring out a lot of emotions. This song will never get old for me.

 2

Payphone: The first single off of Overexposed was the smash hit Payphone. The song is a pop ballad with a catchy melody which talks about a romance which is no more. And its my girl's favourite. The music video shows Levine taking down some bank robbers and attempting to become the "hero" in a hail of bullets as he makes his escape, steals a gun from a robber and then gets mistaken for one.

 3

One More Night: It starts with an "Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh" which in itself is a hard thing to do, not everybody can. This song was the sophomore single off of the album and is one of the catchiest songs Maroon 5 has ever written. The song is also relatable to many fans that have found themselves in similar situations and so it has the most number of views in youtube. It has reggae beat infused into the percussion, giving the song a dancey feel. The video has actress Minka Kelly as Adam's grilfriend, she is the daughter of former Aerosmith guitarist Rick Dufay.

 4

Moves Like Jagger: Its a catchy and fun song to just listen to and dance to (though am not a dancing type).  Adam teamed up with his fellow Voice coach, Christina Aguilera for this song and it happens to be the second most viewed song of the band.

 5

Never Gonna Leave This Bed: Adam said this song was his favorite, due to the melodic vocals and innocent, desperate lyrics. This song reflects a desperate longing to have somebody in life. And this song is the reason why girls love Adam. Just love the way he has sung it. The music video has scenes of Adam and his former girlfriend Anne Vyalitsyna in three different bed settings.

 6

Misery: Misery is a breakup song with passion and still is a real treat to the ears, makes you wanna crack a move. This song is really talking about Adam getting his life hurt and broken up with his girlfriend and he must've felt hurt in his music video and its hilarious and weird. Misery is about the desperation of wanting someone really badly in your life but having it be very difficult.

 7

This Love: This Maroon 5 song not only has a sexy and catchy chorus, but a hot music video to match. The song's lyrics are based on Adam's break-up with an ex-girlfriend and the song lyrics is really erotic. Out of the entire Songs About Jane album, this has to be the most recognizable and one of the greatest songs they have came out with. Adam revealed that he wrote the song the day his girlfriend moved away when they broke up. This music video also features Adam and his then-girlfriend, model Kelly McKee, in a few intimate scenes.

 8

Makes Me Wonder: It is an aggressive, loud and was a positive change for Maroon 5. This song carries two meanings. One meaning of "Makes Me Wonder" is about Adam's frustration at the state of politics and the United States' role in the war in Iraq. And second is simply about love.

 9

Won't Go Home Without You: The guitar undertone in the song is based on the 'The Police' single, 'Every Breath You Take', which makes the moment at the end of the music video where Levine is watching the female character somewhat coincidental. Great song that reminds you that there is always a chance for redemption, even when you f**k-up. Good vocals, melody is strong, instrumentals are smooth.

10

Sunday Morning: One of the first hit singles for Maroon 5, Sunday Morning is still a fan favourite. The song is slow and builds as it progresses. The chorus is an instant sing along. It has a vibe that makes me happy. It shows what love can do and how people are longing for great times with lovers. It shows that times get tough, but all you need to remember is the good in the relationship and not the bad. It focuses on the little things of the relationship: fighting over covers, waking up next to the one you love.
