Rawrr Listicle: Women In Music -Substantial Female Musicians from India

As more and more female solo artists hit the mainstream the question arises: where are the girl bands? Why aren't they getting the attention they deserve? So to this day “The International Women’s Day”, In honour of girl-only bands that rock harder than the boys, we’re presenting you this exclusive Women In Music -Substantial Female Musicians from India .

Watch Out Boy Bands, here comes the girl groups.

 Tetseo Sisters

Say hello to Nagaland’s hottest cultural export. And they just happen to be sisters. Giving a different meaning to genre-blending they stand to challenge the sexy girl band stereotype with weird and wonderful stage looks. The Tetseo sisters have been around the country trying to bring back the wonderful folk music and traditional fashion of Nagaland.
The Tetseo Sisters are a group of four talented young sisters who have kept the spirit of the people from those ages alive with their folk music. They hail from Kohima , Nagaland from the chakhesang tribe and sing in their dialect called Chokhri , their music consist of soft melodic tunes mostly accompanied by a one stringed instrument they call a Tati/Heka libuh.

" While it is true that the Northeast have more female bands compared to the rest of the country, we are also yet to make a major impact. In the sphere of music too, women are yet to find their place and we will continue to work against unrealistic expectations but make great music and enjoy ourselves in the process. Why do we have to create gaps and categories like northeast musicians, female musicians, male musicians? Music is music, for all to enjoy. The focus should be on the music and not who is making it. This Women's Day, let's look at fostering an attitude of live and let live! Cheers! Hiyohey! "
They  have been together  for a long time and have shown great pride and progress in terms of their music , they also sing western songs but the songs which brought them into the limelight was their folk music or Li.
This all girl band is an example of how even in this modern day and age people don’t forget their roots and stick to their culture and their heritage and hence they can be categorized as one of the top all female bands of india.

Genesis of Pink

By this point, We all can agree that the music industry is slowly dying. It's lifespan being diminished by every nasal twang produced by the manufactured pop icons. Every pop icon being as basic as the last one. That's when one decides to search deep in the local music scene.

Being born in an unheard city in an already infamous country, the music scene does not have much variety apart from some cool deathcore acts and a couple of alt rock outfits. Thinking of this, i overheard from somebody of an all girl rock band called Genesis of Pink. Hailing from Gangtok, This Group of 4 have made song that meld the lines of genres, Mixing Power pop with Rap vocals and Do Ballad about love and stuff. They also have a supporting dance group.

The members are all in High school. With 3 songs in their helm, they show no signs of slowing down.
Their 1st song "No one" is a love ballad with some tight vocals, backing Harmonies and a soothing bass line
Their second song "Who are you" has that power pop/alt punk feel with the ferocity of the vocalist and the drums that breathe new life to the song.

Genesis Of Pink are:
Mahima Apchunna Rai- Vocalist/Rhythm guitars
Dechen Gyurmi Zangmu- Lead Guitarist
Annies Pamo Lucksom- Bassist
Shristi Rai- Keyboards.
